Here’s what’s involved: Meeting with a high volume of students to review and discuss reasonable adjustments (such as additional exam arrangements) and following pre-determined processes to administer follow-up and communication with relevant staff Establishing and developing support for students in using assistive technology and helping to develop an Assistive Technology suite Working as part of a team to identify, develop and promote new initiatives to support students with additional learning needs Supporting students with their applications for Disabled Students Allowance Supporting the administration of learning support funding claims for Degree apprenticeships Developing links with the faculties across the University to promote inclusive learning and teaching Bring your experience: You will have experience of providing expert one-to-one advice to disabled students or students with complex needs, including multi-agency liaison (essential) Proven track record of supporting individuals in crisis (essential) Experience in working in Higher Education (desirable) You will have a proven track record of developing and/or implementing inclusive policy and practice in an organisational context (desirable) Practical working knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 in relation to all protected characteristics and a sound grasp of the legal aspects of supporting disabled students Understanding of the SEND Code of Practice 2015 Level 7 qualification in Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (ideally) A working knowledge of assistive technology (e.g. mind mapping software) and its application to study is desirable.   A little more about QA: Students preparing for undergraduate study. Immediate Start    Working within our QA Higher Education business you will have the skills, qualifications and experience to carry out English Language testing with our potential undergraduate and postgraduate students. The assessments will be carried out both face to face and online using Skype. You will also be involved with Test invigilation, proof reading and general administration i.e. typing, scanning, proofreading, filing and etc. What you’ll get up to: Ideally you will have either an English Language Examiner &/OR an English Language Teacher background and hold relevant qualifications as listed below. Our role is predominately Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm with some Saturdays required throughout the year. The Learning Coach is a new role and will focus on supporting students and working with the teaching team. Do you have experience of teaching or coaching in an FE or HE environment, working with international students? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to establish a new role within QAHE Pathway College which is embedded into the campus. The Pathway is focused on delivering a high quality student experience to achieve academic success, to realise this aim we a seeking a passionate Learning Coach to join us. A little more about the role: As a Learning Coach you will contribute to the student support team, analysis data to pick up trends and building a rapport with international students, the objective is to support them managing their studies along with the teaching team. If empowering each student to reach their potential appeals to you….  Apply today! What you’ll get up to: Communicating with students at risk of self-withdrawal or programme termination. Planning, preparing and delivering intuitive one-to-one retention coaching activities with students at risk of self-withdrawal or programme termination. Be part of the induction process, signposting students to appropriate university services in order to help them acclimatise.  Build relationships with university support services and student societies, in order to direct students to university services or societies where appropriate. Carry out administration duties as required including the keeping of accurate logs of all interactions made with each student. Monitor attendance and engagement trends in collaboration with Module and Programme leads in order to pro-actively identify trends and necessary support interventions.  Ensuring discretion and confidentiality regarding the communication and retention coaching taking place with each student. Successful completion of the IFP programmes allows entry onto a range of undergraduate programmes at the University. The International Year One allows entry into level 5.
