Learning & Teaching Support Coach - Higher Education Student Support (Pathway Programmes)

Onsite at either Solent University SOUTHAMPTON  OR
University of South Wales PONTYPRIDD or
Northumbria University NEWCASTLE OR Roehampton University LONDON  

Permanent fulltime opportunity, campus based – 4 positions available

Are you an experienced coach or teacher?  Due to growth within the Pathway College, we have a new opportunity - the Learning Coach role will focus on supporting students and working with the teaching team.

Do you have experience of teaching or coaching in an FE or HE environment, particularly working with international students?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity to establish a new role within QAHE Pathway College which is embedded into the campus. The Pathway is focused on delivering a high quality student experience to achieve academic success and to realise this aim we are seeking a passionate Learning Coach to join us.

A little more about the role: As a Learning Coach you will contribute to the student support team, analysing data to pick up trends and building a rapport with our international students. The objective is to support them in managing their studies along with the teaching team. If empowering students to reach their potential appeals to you, this could be the role for you!.

What you’ll get up to:

Communicate with students at risk of self-withdrawal or programme termination.

Plan, prepare and deliver intuitive one-to-one retention coaching activities with students at risk of self-withdrawal or programme termination.

Be part of the induction process, signposting students to appropriate university services in order to help them acclimatise. 

Build relationships with university support services and student societies, in order to direct students to university services or societies where appropriate.

Carry out administration duties as required including the keeping of accurate logs of all interactions made with each student.

Monitor attendance and engagement trends in collaboration with Module and Programme leads in order to proactively identify trends and necessary support interventions. 

Ensure discretion and confidentiality regarding the communication and retention coaching taking place with each student.
